Soccer Leopards Win Two: The De Queen High School soccer team returned to the winners column after spring break with a pair of victories. The senior board blanked visiting Wickes 6-0. The Lady Leopards won 3-0.
Archery Team Places Fifth: The De Queen High School archery team finished fifth among 28 teams at the Arkansas National Archery in the Schools program state tournament at Hot Springs. Coach Jody Cowart carried 23 competitors to the event, with 12 archers scoring. Hannah Wahls had the best score for De Queen with 281 out of 300 possible points.
Disc Golf Course Opens: A new 18-hole disc golf course recently opened for play in Herman Dierks Park. The course covers the parks 43 acres. Disc golf is similar to regular golf but instead of hitting a ball into a hold, the object is to throw a disc into a basket.
Relay For Life set May 10: Work is already underway on the 2013 Relay for Life event in Sevier County. This year's Relay will be held May 10, at Leopard Stadium, beginning at 6 p.m.

A bass tournament to benefit Relay for Life is scheduled April 20 on Dierks Lake.
