The De Queen High School Girls Track team scored 148.5 points to capture the top spot in the annual Leopard Relays at De Queen. The De Queen Senior Boys scored 128.5 points to take second place behind Nashville.
- Blackwood To Retire

After 55 years with the De Queen School District, Superintendent Bill Blackwood said he is ready to start a new chapter in his life. Blackwood, who has served as superintendent since 1981, plans to retire at the end of the school year. He will be succeeded by Bruce Hill, now assistant superintendent.
